Untamed Kootenays Will Take You On A Wild Food Ride

Calling all foodies! If your taste buds have been dying for something delectably unique and you have a deep respect for the outdoors, then this is the place you should be. Untamed Kootenays is a wild ride through the culinary landscape of the area. The event is set to take place on June 8 at the Island Lake Lodge in their Tamarack Dining Room.

This year is the 3rd time for this popular event and it’s on track to be just as tantalizing as ever. The event is meant to highlight the best that the region has to offer. Many of the ingredients used to create the mouth-watering dishes are sourced from the Elk Valley and surrounding area.

Each year, chefs from the region are invited to cook at the event. The dishes must follow the theme of incorporating ingredients foraged from the surrounding area. This year chefs Keith Farkas (of Island Lake Lodge) and award-winning Roy Oh (of Calgary based Anju) will be creating the year’s culinary experience.

Anyone hoping to get in on this unique tasting event needs to move fast. There are only 60 dinner tickets in total available. Dinner tickets are $152 per person and the price includes wine (gratuity and tax not included).

During the day, guided hikes are available and there is even an opportunity to forage for ingredients with the chefs themselves. Dinner guests won’t go thirsty either. Beverages from both Fernie Brewing Co. and BC Wine Studio will be featured during the event.
