The Elk Valley Pride Festival is back in Fernie for 2021! 

The annual event is set to take place from September 22nd until the 26th, with COVID-19 safety measures in place.

The schedule of events has already been announced and includes tons of fun events for people of all ages.

The festival kicks off on Wednesday, September 22nd with an Arts Station Bike Decorating Station and Ask Me Anything talk with Andrea Brennan. Thursday is the official start of Elk Valley Pride Festival, with the flag raising and opening remarks, Ride with Pride Bike Parade, Rainbow Connections Pride Picnic, and Beers & Queers event. 

Things really get going on Friday, September 24th and Saturday the 25th with a Drag Story and Craft Time for kids on Friday morning, Cooking with Queers event, and a Men’s Health Initiative Presentation. 

On Saturday, guests can attend a Pub Parade and Coffee Social, Queer History of BC, Spectrum Arts Festival, and the 19+ Drag Bingo event. 

Sunday, September 26th concludes this year’s Elk Valley Pride Festival and will feature the likes of the Sunday Sip Drag Brunch and an Interfaith Service in the morning.

Many events are free, while others cost a small fee. Tickets for all events are available on Eventbrite. 

To ensure a safe Pride celebration for all, guests are expected to follow the provincial COVID-19 mandates in place, including wearing masks in all indoor spaces, proof of vaccination for all indoor events, and physical distancing both indoors and outdoors. Washing and sanitizing your hands regularly is also strongly encouraged.
