While it may not have been a popular winter overall, the skiers certainly enjoyed a lengthy ski season this year. Now, that’s all behind us, but that doesn’t mean the fun has come to an end. There’s still plenty to see and do at the Fernie Alpine Resort and it all officially starts on Saturday, June 23.

The 2018 summer season at the Fernie Alpine Resort runs from June 23 to September 3, with bonus weekends—September 8 & 9, September 15 & 16, and September 22 & 23. No matter your outdoor interests, there’s something here for everyone.

Both the Elk Chair and the Timber Chair will be in operation for the season. The Ellk Chair will run everyday from 10:30am to 4:30pm and will stay open late (until 7:00) on Thursdays. Expect to see the Timber Chair open on the weekends and stat holidays from 10:30am to 4:30pm.

Mountain biking enthusiasts will have plenty of options at the Fernie Bike Park. There are 37 marked trails available for everyone from the most experienced mountain biker to those just starting out. The trails feature bridges, ladders, berms, bumps, stunts, and much more. There will be bike clinics, camps and events happening over the course of the season. Rentals are available for those who don’t have their own equipment.

If biking and chairlift rides aren’t your thing, there is much more to do, including hiking (guided or on your own), an aerial park, free kids mini park, zipline, and tennis. At the top of the Elk Chair you can also explore Nature Bob’s Interpretive Centre where you’ll earn all about the area from naturalist interpreter Bob Livsey or ‘Nature Bob’ as he’s more commonly known.

There’s much to see and do this summer at the Fernie Alpine Resort. If you’re going to be visiting and are looking for accommodation in the Fernie area, the Sanford Resort is a wonderful option. Our alpine location and wide array of amenities make us the ideal choice for outdoor adventure seekers.
