The holidays are right around the corner, and here in Fernie, we couldn’t be more excited.

After many holiday events were cancelled last year due to the pandemic, we’re looking forward to a whole slew of festive activities this year.

For example, to start the holiday season in Fernie is none other than the Downtown Holiday Kick Off.

Celebrate the holiday season with a night of shopping, community, fireworks, art, music, lights, and more!

For one night only, Friday, November 26th, Historic Downtown Fernie will turn into a Christmas paradise.

From 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, locals and visitors alike are invited to participate in an annual Fernie tradition.

This year’s Downtown Holiday Kick Off is set to feature food and beverages (like hot apple cider and baked goods), artisan vendors and displays, promotions and customer appreciation, and live Christmas carols.

For the kids, there will be an Elfie selfie scavenger hunt, pictures with Santa, and arts and crafts.

Of course, the event will also include a festive tree lighting ceremony and fireworks at Station Square.

Take this opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit right here in Fernie. The Downtown Holiday Kick Off is also a great opportunity to shop local. The one-of-a-kind, independently-run boutiques of Fernie will all be open for the event, selling everything from books, sporting goods, and artwork to clothing, houseware, and gifts for all ages. Support a local business while getting your holiday shopping done early at this festive Fernie event.

The Downtown Holiday Kick Off is free of charge to attend and is suitable for people of all ages.

If you’re going to be in Fernie on Friday, November 26th, then we strongly urge you to attend the Downtown Holiday Kick Off. And if you need somewhere to stay during your visit, you’re always welcome at the Fernie Stanford Resort. We combine a scenic alpine location and family-friendly amenities like a pool, waterslide, games room, and complimentary breakfast, with suites of all sizes and unbeatable prices.
