If you’re an avid skier and are itching to hit the slopes, then the Fernie Ski and Board Film Festival and FAST Ski Swap may just events to hold you over until ski season arrives. Happening November 9 and 10, these ski events will help you get all prepared and pumped up for the upcoming season.

The FAST (Fernie Alpine Ski Team) Ski Swap is the perfect to place to get yourself all outfitted in ski and board gear ahead of winter. You can save yourself some serious cash here and may even make a bit too. Pick up some great used gear, sell off some that you don’t need anymore or both.

Drop off of ski equipment happens between 2 pm and 9 pm on Friday, November 9 at the Fernie Community Centre. On Saturday at 9:30 am to 2 pm is when the sale happens. The proceeds from admission and 20 percent of the sales profits go towards funding the ski club.

Following the FAST Ski Swap, the Fernie Ski and Board Film Fest will also take place at the Fernie Community Centre. Ski enthusiasts gather to enjoy amazing food, drinks, door prizes and the company of like-minded individuals, not to mention some incredible ski and board films. This year's, film lineup is Hoji, Far Out, and Ode to Muir. Doors open at 6:30 pm, with the first film starting at 7 pm.  

Tickets, available starting in mid-October, will be sold online and from local retailers. They will also be available at the door. All attendees get 2-for-1 lift tickets for Fernie Alpine Resort and Castle Mountain.
