It’s almost that time of year again. A chill is in the air and the ghosts, goblins and other scary creatures are right around the corner. Halloween’s coming and the kids are gearing up, but the spooky fun doesn’t have to be all about the kids. For adults there are still lots of creepy good times to be had; you just have to know where to look.

Fernie Ghost Tours, presented by Tunnel Theatre, is one way for adults to share in the spine-chilling fun of Halloween. Even if you feel like you know Fernie like the back of your hand—even if you feel like it’s the nicest, safest town around and there’s nothing hiding in the shadows… you just might be surprised.

The tours take participants through all of the town’s ‘haunts’ that are otherwise overlooked. As described by The Arts Station, tour-goers will discover, “ghastly ghost stories, blood-soaked buildings and horrible happenings in the downtown core. Every tale is crafted from dark history, local legend, or vivid ghostly experiences shared by Fernie locals. Is Fernie haunted? Could our pleasant streets hide an eerie truth, too terrible for the light of day?”

Of course, it’s not all terror and gore. There are plenty of laughs to be had along the way too. The experience is not to be taken too seriously. That said, due to the content, the tours are for ages 19+.

Tours will be happening in the evening on October 28 and 29, just in time to get in the Halloween spirit. Exact times, meeting location, and prices are yet to be announced.

If you’re headed to the area and are looking for top-notch accommodations in Fernie, look no further than the Fernie Stanford Resort. Our spectacular alpine setting and host of tranquille amenities makes for the ultimate relaxing stay, even if you’re chasing ghosts.
