There are plenty of entertaining blockbuster movies hitting theatres on a regular basis, but sometimes you want to see something a little less expected. Enter Indie Films Fernie. Held at the Vogue Theatre (321 1st Ave) at 5 pm on the second Sunday of each month (from September to April), Indie Films Fernie has something intriguing for everyone. 

Whether you’re into drama, comedy, music, animation or documentaries, Indie Films has you covered. The selection process takes into consideration excellence in directorship, cinematography, acting, costume, set design, music and technical achievement from international independent production companies.

You’ll get to watch in style too, as the Vogue Theatre has been completely redone in the past 5 years, with updated sound and visual systems. There’s also plenty to do beyond the movie; the second floor of the theatre has a range of new and vintage arcade games and some table games.

Indie Films Fernie is a popular event. In the past, some of the most popular selections have even been held over for an additional showing. Some fans favourites that have been given an encore showing in the past are the biopic 'Mongol,' the travel drama 'Into the Wild' and the Academy Award winner, 'The Artist’.
