There is something for everyone to enjoy, with many activities that are budget-friendly!

Go Golfing

You can’t visit Fernie without indulging in a day of golf. Spend the day at the Fernie Golf Club and take in the breathtaking mountain views around this course. Great for beginners and experienced golfers, this club offers both an 18-hole course and a short course if you’re short on time. You’ll play surrounded by nature and the mountains, making this a truly unique and Canadian experience.

Hike the Day Away

If you’re into the outdoors (or want to be) you’ll have your pick of epic trails in and around the city. Some popular trails for experienced hikers include Mount Fernie, Mt Proctor, and the Three Sisters. If you prefer an easier trail, we recommend exploring Mt Fernie Provincial Park or local trails along the Elk River. Tie up those laces, pack a snack and a water bottle and head out into nature! Hiking is a blissful way to make the most out of a blue-sky day and is proven to elevate your mood!

Mountain Biking

This activity is a big hit in our town and it’s no wonder why! There are some epic cross-country and downhill mountain bike trails that will add some excitement to your day. Most trails are accessible from downtown Fernie, so there’s no need to drive out of the city to access them. With spring and summer being the most popular for biking enthusiasts, this pastime usually lasts until the end of October. You can explore over 100 biking trails or for more daring riders, try out the Dirt Jump & Skills Park.

If you’re planning a domestic trip this spring/summer season, our city of Fernie welcomes you! With great rooms for couples and families alike, we recommend staying at the Fernie Stanford Resort. We’re conveniently located in central Fernie, placing you at the center of the action! Book your stay with us and experience Fernie and all its great activities.
