Summer’s just around the corner and what better way to kick it off than by attending Summer Opening Day at the Fernie Alpine Resort. Yes, ski season is over for now, but there’s still plenty to do on the hill, especially for nature lovers. June 22nd is the first day for full operations for the summer season and there will be tons to take in.

With 37 marked trails, there’s non-stop mountain biking fun to be had. There’s something for everyone, with trails ranging from beginner to expert and everything in between. The rugged terrain has all kinds of surprises so you’ll never get bored. On the expert trails you’ll find ladders, bumps, bridges, stunts, and berms.

If you don’t have your own bike or just didn’t bring it, not to worry. The resort has rentals and features SCOTT Voltage FR 720 and SCOTT Junior Voltage Downhill bikes, pads & helmets. If you want to fully immerse yourself in mountain biking while you’re here, there’s plenty of opportunity. For true enthusiasts, there are also bike camps, clinics, lessons and other bike related events.
