With the recent onslaught of La Nina inspired snow, we expect the runs to be covered with a healthy helping of fresh powder. To celebrate the start of ski season, and to thank Fernie residents for their continuing support, Fernie Alpine Resort is also pleased to be bringing back Community Appreciation Day. On Sunday, December 12, anyone with a photo ID and proof of residency in Fernie, Elko, Elkford, Jaffray, Sparwood, and the Elk Valley will get a free day of skiing and riding, as well as a $2 Burger at the daylodge. Proceeds from the BBQ will go to a local charity, so come out, enjoy a day of skiing on us, and go some good for the local community – what could be better?
